boys cook best

boyscookbest03.jpg

sometimes I am embarrassed by his behavior, even frustrated by his exuberant personality. but every day I learn so much. about acceptance and unconditional love. about taking time to build my relationship with my son. and I realize. Will may not always be my favorite companion. yet he's undoubtedly my best teacher.

He looks very grown up today - it goes so quickly, I know you are good at living in the moment with them, which is good.

Won't it be amazing for your boys to come look at this thoughtfully photographed collection and gain insight into you and into their younger selves?

I know this was a short post, but I loved reading it. I feel like it's taboo for moms to admit when they don't enjoy their kids, and I often feel like a freak of nature when I would rather hole up in my room than play with my daughter because she's just too happy for me to handle at the moment. But the way you put it is perfect--that it teaches us about acceptance and unconditional love and the skill of building relationships with our kids. And I think your view of this will make all the difference in the world for your boys.

It's easy to be frustrated when they are that age, but look how pleased he seems to be cooking in the kitchen. I know it's a cliche, and you can't believe it now, but it really does go as quickly as a blink of the eye . . .

I really like this post, it strikes so true to me, the mom of two children who hold very different places in my heart.
