"he who is drowned is not troubled by the rain"

today I took Sean to see a child therapist and unravelled the little dramas of my own childhood while trying to compose myself and not burst into tears. as much as I love my son, I found it slightly unpleasant to jostle memories and crowd an entire room with some raw wounds that still need salving. but now I know why he's been carrying and sleeping with all those boxes full of stuffed animals and toys from McDonald's Happy Meals. and amidst the feeble explanations now spring glimpses of little hopes for us to harvest. a life flooded with hugging and acceptance. an inviting home where our family and friends would feel enlightened. and new shoes.

Very cute shoes -- all of you. It's good to take joy in the little hopes. Sometimes, it's what gets us through it all.

Wow! I just wrote about taking Nat to the therapist and then I read this. Except I did burst into tears during our initial meeting (without Natalie there, she goes tomorrow).

You're such a good mom, Irene. Sean is a very lucky boy.

My son has had me worried enough to consider taking him to a therapist lately too. I'm hoping school will end and the summer will put an end to my boy's nightmares and stressed out behavior. I wish you the best of luck with Sean. Isn't it amazing how being a parent really can make you face all your own issues and work through them for the betterment of your kids? I'm really thankful for that, actually...

Wishing you all the very best only from England! And I wish I could pull off Converse shoes, but frankly, they just look really goffy on me. Not nearly as cool as you, I guess :(

Irene ((hugs)). I know this must be so hard for you.
I learned along the way with Angie that kids who are super sensitive or high needs kids can also be greatly affected by food. There is this whole food allergy/affecting behavior thing I can get you info on.. I'll email you.

Just as the saying goes, "life is like a guide, how would you like to write, it is what sort of book. So our own attitude determines existence. However, we have to go through significantly more meaningful guide, it can give us inspiration. by Supra Vaider High

In our efforts to adjust differences of opinion we should be free from intolerance of passion, and our judgements should be unmoved by alluring phrases and unvexed by selfish interests. Post by Jordan 13
